Every year
McKinney
Park
is transformed into a Winter Wonderland full
of Christmas scenes sure to put any Scrooge in the Christmas spirit. Twinkling
lights and sparkling displays light the way for an amazing driving or walking tour of
Starbright
Village
. Some of the scenes visitors will see
include a Nativity, a Gingerbread House and a fountain of animated water made of
lights. Some displays are as tall as 22 feet and span more than 200 feet, or
almost the length of a football field. One of the most spectacular sights at
Starbright
Village
is the City of
Odessa Christmas Tree
. Standing 50 feet tall with some 600
separate boughs and adorned with more than 3,500 lights the tree serves as a
Christmas beacon for any traveler on Interstate 20.
Visitors to
Starbright
Village
will not only behold the sights, but also
the sounds of the season. Musical entertainment is showcased each weekend until
Christmas Day.
Families, couples and/or friends are encouraged to walk through
Starbright
Village
while sipping on Hot Chocolate and enjoying
a truly amazing display of Christmas lights. Children can hand deliver
their Christmas wish list to Santa himself. The Jolly Old Elf will be available
to children every Friday and Saturday, until Christmas Eve, between
7 p.m.
and
9 p.m.
The only exception is Saturday, December 6th
when Santa will make an appearance in the Parade of Lights. Santa’s scheduled
appearance for
Starbright
Village
on December 6th is
8 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Starbright
Village
is open
6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
nightly between December 4th and December
24th at
McKinney
Park
,
625 W. Pool Road
in
Odessa
. While there is no entry fee for
Starbright
Village
, donations are greatly appreciated and
accepted each year. Donations benefit the development and growth of
Starbright
Village
.
